Status Update

The website has been updated! Gandanur now has a forum where you can discuss everything about our awesome server tool. The manual has also been updated and should now load faster. All downloads will now go through mediafire to ensure the download links will remain working in the distant future.

About Gandanur itself. I've been working together with HaloRank to provide player and game statistics using Gandanur. Apart from this I've also been working on the other parts again. A few small updates here and there are already done. New features will also be added, but more about that in the future!

What I can provide you is the release date for the next version: 30 November 2012. On that day Gandanur 12.10.0 will be released in the wild (unless my new jobs requires more time then expected). The new features will be slowly revealed in the coming weeks! During September possible patches will be released in case bugs are found.

The future is looking good :)

  1. Finally... most people are switching to Phasor already

  2. While it's true phasor is more extensible, I still prefer Gandanur because of its ease of use

  3. Is it possible to include coding that blocks all incoming data packets from a particular IP, so as to minimise the ability for DoS attacks to work?

I know you have sv_ipban but that doesn't quite do the same thing. I don't know what the coding for that command is, but my guess would be it would mean the server will receive data packets from an IP, but after cross-referencing it with the IP banlist, denies that IP entry in to the server. But the data packets have already been received by the server.

  4. @Eoin: With sv_ipban the packets are blocked before being processed by the original halo server. But of course the haloded.exe program will still receive the packet and then check the IP banlist. Checking that an IP is banned takes nearly no time (has to do with the time complexity of the algorithm - in practice it simply means it's very very fast).

The only better option is to block IP's using the firewall of your operating system or router.

    Thankyou

  6. Current version is under development. I unexpectedly got a *lot* more work on my hands I was unable to put much time in Gandanur. I hope end of november will be possible this time.
